Microfinance summit looks at future of industry
23-03-2010
Over 2000 delegates from more than 40 different countries will gather at next month's Africa - Middle East Regional Microcredit Summit in Nairobi, Kenya next month.
Oikocredit is a proud sponsor of the event, which will also include high profile appearances of Grameen Bank founder Muhammad Yunus, HRH Queen Sofia of Spain and Princess Maxima of the Netherlands.
Oikocredit's Kenya country manager Carol Mulwa is a member of the summit organizing committee, and says the conference is a great boost for microfinance in the region.
"We are delighted Kenya is hosting the event and believe it's a great sign of restored confidence in our country, and that Kenya's microfinance industry has come of age," Ms Mulwa said.
"We're excited to come together and discuss the position and future possibilities for microfinance."
The conference will be held at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre from April 7 to 10. For more information, visit http://regionalmicrocreditsummit2010.org/
