Our 30 support associations in 13 different countries rely on the hard work of committed volunteers to make a true grassroots-to-grassroots connection.
The mission of our support associations is to promote the work of Oikocredit on the group in their territories. They mobilize these volunteers to help build awareness of development issues and to encourage socially responsible investments by local individuals, churches and social agencies.
Support associations give talks and lectures, as well as attending fair-trade events and conferences. Their membership also represents a significant portion of investments. Around 80% of the funds that have been invested in Oikocredit come from support association members. Active members of our support associations serve on our international Board of Directors and various other committees.
