Thirty-four years ago, Zaida's mother started a small grocery shop. The business was enough to support her family, but now Zaida's family and that of her sister have grown up.

To expand the family business, Zaida rented the property next door and opened a clothes shop. With her last loan from FIDERPAC, Zaida has been able to purchase stock for both shops and to pay off outstanding debts. Today, the businesses support all three families.

FIDERPAC became an Oikocredit partner in 2002.

Invest in people
… and put your money to work!

Many poor people in developing countries have the potential to build a better life.

Oikocredit has been supporting them, since 1975, by providing access to very small loans, known as microcredit. With her loan Zaida, in Costa Rica, bought a sewing machine and she started her own clothes shop! Support people like Zaida by investing in Oikocredit.
