Oikocredit believes poor people are reliable partners, able to generate jobs and build better lives for themselves if only given the chance: if only given credit. (Read more about Oikocredit's Mission and Values) As a socially responsible investments channel, Oikocredit promotes global social justice by turning investments into credits. Our goals are high social impact and sustainable development.
Oikocredit supports rural and urban, health care, education and housing projects, and facilitates credits to Small-to-Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Microfinance Intermediaries (MFI), Non-profit civil associations and Cooperatives.
It also encourages people, churches and other entities to place their resources in socially responsible investments to empower the disadvantaged people through credit. Oikocredit's head office is based in Amersfoort, the Netherlands.
The RDC SA (Regional Development Center for South America Southern Region) with headquarters in Montevideo, Uruguay, channels the information between the International head office in the Netherlands and Oikocredit's projects in the region.
The RDC SA covers Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile (only projects monitoring), Paraguay and Uruguay, helped by local offices (Country Offices) in these countries (but in Chile).
