Oikocredit is sponsoring this year’s Social Capital Markets (SoCap) conference in Amsterdam, the Netherlands starting Monday May 30.

The event brings together a community of social entrepreneurs and investors to share and discuss ideas on social enterprises.
Oikocredit equity investment officer Tom Keleher said the SoCap sponsorship was in recognition of the positive impact collaboration between social entrepreneurs and social investors can have.
“SoCap’s pioneering European event brings together a community of active and engaged colleagues and we wanted to strongly support this endeavour,” Mr Keleher said.
In its own equity unit, Oikocredit pursues sustainable development through minority ownership, because of the unique opportunity to actively work towards social goals.
“It gives us a seat at the governance table and greater ability to influence the strategic direction, behaviour and values of the companies we invest in.”
