In 1982, Oikocredit started supporting projects in Indonesia through its representative office in Semarang province. As of September 2011, total approved loans amounted to IDR 157.7 billion (€10.2 million). There are currently 14 active partners with an outstanding portfolio of IDR 16.3 billion (€1.4 million ).

In 2006, Oikocredit opened a satellite office in Banda Aceh in response to the financing needs of enterprising Acehnese after the 2004 tsunami. As of September 2011, total approved loans amounted to IDR 16.34 billion (€ 1.205 million). Presently, there are 19 partners in Aceh with IDR 13 billion (€ 1.14 million) portfolio outstanding.
