The Philippines

Oikocredit began supporting projects in the Philippines in 1983 and has since approved loans amounting to P3.07 billion (€ 52.65 million).  There was a huge surge in financing from a portfolio of Php923 million (€ 15.79 million) by end of September 2010 to Php1.1 Billion (€ 17.7 million) in September 2011.

There are at present 47 active partners in the Philippines - 19 in Luzon, 14 in the Visayas, and 14 in Mindanao - benefiting over 3.7 million economically active poor Filipinos, the majority of whom are women.
