ASKI receives Seal of Transparency
Microfinance institution Alalay sa Kaunlaran (ASKI) has recently been awarded the Seal of Transparency by MFTransparency for its contribution to a transparent microfinance market in the Philippines. In October last year, ASKI also received a certification from Grameen Foundation for its compliance to the standards that have been set for using the Progress Out of Poverty Index (PPI), a tool to measure the poverty levels of microfinance clients and track changes of those levels over time. The fact that ASKI received both the Seal of Transparency and the PPI certification shows its commitment to social performance management.
ASKI - Alalay sa Kaunlaran, or ‘Support towards progress’ - is an organization operating on the Philippine island of Luzon, providing credit to small entrepreneurs such as farmers, tricycle drivers, vendors and fisher folks. ASKI has been an Oikocredit project partner for six years.
