Oikocredit profile
For the past 35 years, Oikocredit's primary goal has been to provide credit to organizations which may otherwise not have access to funding. Oikocredit is one of the world's largest sources of private funding to the microfinance sector. We also provide credit to trade cooperatives, fair trade organizations and small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs) in the developing world.
Oikocredit's development focus is apparent by its investments in Latin America, Asia and Africa. Latin America has the biggest share in Oikocredit's outstanding portfolio, followed by Asia. Expanding its activities in Africa, which represents 14% percent of its portfolio, is one of Oikocredit's main priorities.
