Global and regional initiatives

In addition to global initiatives coordinated by the International Support Office, Oikocredit Regional and Country Offices engage in social performance management activities with partners or networks in their area.

India and Central Asia: Oikocredit has participated in road shows and conducted workshops to introduce and promote social performance management.

The Philippines and Cambodia: Oikocredit introduced the methodology of measuring Social Return on Investment.

Costa Rica: Oikocredit has promoted the Social Balance for Cooperatives tool among its partners.

South America and Central Europe: Oikocredit has provided support for social ratings of a number of partners.

The Oikocredit offices in Peru, the Philippines, Uruguay and Costa Rica are active members of SPM networks in the regions.

Much has been accomplished since discussions at the AGM in 2000 called for the initiation of the "process of external studies on the impact of our credits". But Oikocredit believes much more needs to be done.
