Award for Banco FIE

One of Oikocredit's longest project partners Banco FIE will be honoured for outstanding work in the area of social performance next month.

The International Development Bank will present the award to the Bolivian microfinance institution (MFI) at the Microenterprise Forum award ceremony in Montevideo, Uruguay. FIE was chosen from hundreds of MFIs in Latin America and the Caribbean for consistent best practice in the field of social performance management.

FIE has been an Oikocredit project partner since 1994 and has received three Oikocredit loans and two major equity investments, the most recent of which was for BOB 3.87 million (EUR 417,000) in September last year.

As part of the award, FIE will receive specialized leadership training by the Women's World Banking and the SEEP Network, provided by one of the event sponsors, Citi Foundation. The prize is worth up to USD 17,500.
