Is the problem of over-indebtedness occurring globally or only in a few countries?
As with many generalizations, it is difficult to make bold statements about a global industry. In fact we see that the most serious problems are for now restricted to a small number of countries, such as Nicaragua, Peru, Cambodia, and some regions in India and occurs especially in urban areas. The situation is different in each country, and in some cases the MFIs are beginning to cooperate and share information to deal with the common problems.
