Environmental footprint of
We are mindful of the environmental impact that these trips may have on our planet. However, we are taking every possible measure to minimise their ecological footprint. We are committed to employing local photographers and translators to reduce carbon emissions associated
with travel.
Additionally, we are collaborating with local travel agents and sourcing
all necessary supplies locally, ensuring that we support the economies of the
communities we visit.
Furthermore, the carbon emissions resulting from our flights will be completely offset through the Fair Climate Fund, a Gold Standard, Fair Trade certified project chosen by a B-Corp certified company. Through these efforts, we aim to mitigate the environmental impact of our trips while actively supporting sustainable initiatives.

The costs of the trip varies per destination. If selected for the Journey, you will have to arrange your own flights to and from the country you will visiting, as well as visa and vaccinations (if applicable) and the necessary insurances. Travel health insurance in mandatory, while travel cancellation insurance is optional. During the trip, it is advised to have some additional money for buying souvenirs, extra drinks and personal expenses such as telephone calls.

Oikocredit is a social impact organisation. Oikocredit facilitates the organisation of Oikocredit Journeys by an independent travel agency. We are not a travel agency and organising tours or trips is not our main business.

No. The price of the trip is to cover costs for participants only.

Sadly, we aren’t able to accommodate all people of different abilities. While some impairments, such as partial deafness, may be accommodated, our teams aren’t equipped to handle all kinds of differently abled people, such as those in wheelchairs.

To join the SEKEM Journey, participants must be Oikocredit investors, show a strong interest in promoting Oikocredit afterwards, and meet basic conditions such as availability and travel readiness (click here for details).
Oikocredit values diversity in the group and aims to include participants from different backgrounds and regions. Selected participants will be informed by the end of July.
