Meet our Managing Board & Executive Committee
Oikocredit has a governance structure with a Managing Board consisting of statutory directors and an Executive Committee consisting of the Managing Board members and three non-statutory directors. Our Executive Committee is responsible for the daily management of Oikocredit and handles all key decision-making to drive our operations.

Managing Director
Mirjam ‘t Lam joined Oikocredit in November 2020 as Director of Finance & Risk and was Interim Managing Director for several months before becoming Managing Director on 1 December 2021.
With more than 20 years of experience in financial services, Mirjam joined Oikocredit from the Africa-focused investment company Arise, where she served as Chief Financial Risk Officer (CFRO) and played a leading role in the creation of the organisation. Her other previous positions have included CFRO for Rabo Development and Executive Director at several member banks of the Rabobank Group.
Mirjam has experience in renewable energy and sustainability and was also part of Rabobank’s food and agriculture strategy team. She has international experience of working in both mature and emerging markets and holds a master’s degree in international business from Maastricht University. In addition to her role at Oikocredit, Mirjam is a non-executive Board member for the cooperative development specialist Agriterra.

Director of Impact Investments
Dave Smit joined Oikocredit in October 2022 as Director of Impact Investments.
He has two decades of experience in impact investing, having spent the majority of his career prior to joining Oikocredit in management positions at FMO, the Dutch entrepreneurial development bank, most recently as Senior Investment Officer Africa (private equity).
Dave has been responsible for debt and equity portfolios in Africa, Asia and Latin America and has a wealth of knowledge and experience in financial inclusion, renewable energy and agriculture. He holds a master’s degree in business administration from Rotterdam School of Management.

Director of Inflow & Business Enablers
Patrick Stutvoet joined Oikocredit in March 2019 as Director of IT & Operations and took on additional responsibility for Investor Relations in August 2021. He became Director of Inflow & Business Enablers in July 2022.
Patrick has more than 20 years’ experience in information technology and operations for the financial services sector, including roles at the Bank of England, ABN AMRO and Cap Gemini.
Prior to joining Oikocredit he worked as an operations consultant at the Bank of England, Head of Transaction Banking (IT International) at ABN AMRO, and Head of Investments (IT International) at ABN AMRO.

Director of Accounting, Control and Tax
Beja Morren joined Oikocredit in April 2015 as Financial Controller, became Finance Manager in June 2015, Finance Deputy Director in 2017 and Manager of Financial Control & Accounting in 2019.
She became Director of Accounting & Control in July 2022. Beja worked previously for almost 10 years as an auditor and manager at PWC in the Netherlands. Her experience includes finance department management, project management, consolidation and reporting, accounting, Dutch GAAP, international financial reporting standards (IFRS), assurance and auditing. Beja is a registered auditor in the Netherlands and she holds a master of science degree in accountancy from Nyenrode Business University.

Director of Specialised Finance & Community Building
Hans Perk joined Oikocredit in January 2018 as Regional Director Africa. He became Director of Specialised Finance & Community Building in July 2022.
Hans has worked with Triodos Bank as account manager sustainable asset management, in Guatemala with Eco Volcan as a project manager, and on sustainable supply chains and business development with Solidaridad, where he became Regional Director West Africa in Ghana. He has held board positions at sustainable impact investment funds, NGOs and purpose-driven businesses.
His experience combines working in low-income countries with knowledge of the agricultural sector and development finance, and an extensive network in impact investing.
Hans has studied economics and business at the University of Applied Sciences Utrecht and trained in impact investment, microfinance and leadership, among other subjects, at the Saïd Business School in Oxford and De Baak Management Center in Amsterdam.

Director of People and Development
Wilma Straatman joined Oikocredit in April 2021 on an interim basis as Director of People & Change. She became a member of the permanent staff as Director of People & Development in July 2022.
Wilma has more than 25 years’ experience in realising change, facilitating personal and business transformation, and performing in interim executive roles. She has worked for major corporate organisations such as Unilever, ABN AMRO, Robeco, FedEx and AkzoNobel and for globally oriented smaller-scale organisations such as Porticus, Aberkyn and Cirque du Soleil. She is involved in several HR tech initiatives.
She holds a master’s degree in business science from the University of Groningen and is an accredited coach, practitioner and facilitator in a range of methodologies.
