Our partnership with Sulcredi has brought us many benefits
From tobacco farming to thriving vegetable greenhouses in Brazil
Elisete Lüneburger (45) and her husband Valter run a 20-hectare farm in the southern Brazilian village of Maravilha. Ten years ago, they lost their entire tobacco crop. That’s when Oikocredit’s partner Sulcredi helped them transition to greenhouse vegetable farming.

Elisete
With a loan, they were able to expand their farm and purchase a tractor. Elisete and Valter now operate no fewer than eight greenhouses, producing up to 8,000 vegetables each month. Unfortunately, a recent storm damaged part of the greenhouses, but with Sulcredi’s continued support, Elisete is confident they’ll be able to make repairs soon.
