Meena’s story

“My dream is to expand our business even further.”

Microcredit opens new opportunities for Meena and her family

A powerful example of the impact of microfinance is the story of Meena Nagami (45). Two years ago, Meena and her husband started a business selling paint. Meena had previously worked at a paint manufacturing company, where she learned the trade. She decided to start her own business to increase her earnings. To build up stock, Meena applied for a loan.

Now that we have more stock, we can sell more – and our income has grown. Meena

Thanks to this increase in income, Meena is now able to build a better future for herself and her family. Her daughter can now afford to pursue higher education.

Meena’s shop is located on the main road in her village, and her customers are mostly local builders and painters. At the moment, she and her husband rent the premises, as purchasing the property is too expensive. Meena shares: “My dream is to one day buy the shop and grow our business even further.”
