Rudy’s story
I don’t know exactly where yet, but expanding our business is definitely my goal.

Rudy’s drugstore grows with support from Batumbu and Oikocredit
Rudy (40) runs a successful drugstore, Toko Berkah Baru, together with his parents and two cousins. Since 2021, he has been working with Oikocredit partner Batumbu, who helps him manage payments to suppliers. Rudy shares: “My father previously had a bad experience with another financial institution — they were slow and unreliable.”
Batumbu not only provides financial support but also helps Rudy manage his business finances more effectively. Thanks to this partnership, Rudy has improved his company’s cash flow and generated additional profit, which he invested in a shop property that is now rented out for extra income.
The shop now employs nine staff members and mainly sells cosmetic products, both directly to customers and to other businesses.
He’s also come up with a clever solution for the rainy season. By using delivery services, he ensures customers always receive their orders on time — even in bad weather.
Rudy has big plans for the future. He wants to open a warehouse to store more products and dreams of launching a new shop in Jakarta. “I don’t know exactly where yet, but expanding our business is definitely my goal,” he says with determination.
